  • What qualifications and certifications do your swim instructors hold?
    At AquaGuard Swim Pros, safety is our number one priority. All of our instructors are Red Cross certified, having completed Safety Training for Swim Coaches, First Aid, and CPR-C certifications. Additionally, every employee follows the Safe Sports Code of Conduct, which is renewed yearly. You can trust that each instructor is fully vetted, professional, and committed to your child’s safety at all times.
  • What if I don't have a pool?
    You may still sign up for lessons without a pool location. We will work to find a pool near you and a small fee will be added to the cost. If there are no nearby pools or no agreement on location, we will cancel your lessons at no charge.
  • Do parents need to attend all the lessons?
    We require that a parent or guardian be present during all lessons. Parents can supervise lessons, either from inside the house, or from the pool deck. If your child starts acting out, we would recommend watching the lessons out of their sight, since young children perform better if there is only one authority figure to focus on at a time.
  • Where is your pool located?
    We do not have pool facilities but instead specialize in private, at-home instruction, which means our instructors come to you!
  • Heated Pool Required?
    Although your pool is required to be at least 82 degrees for a comfortable swim environment.
  • How do I know which lesson package I should choose?
    Learning to swim is not a skill that you can learn in just a few lessons. We recommend at least 12 lessons for beginners, scheduled at least 2-3 times per week, to increase skill retention and progression. Most of our young clients schedule lessons 1-2 times per week. We recommend 30 minutes for toddler and preschoolers, 45 minutes for school-age children.
  • What Area do you service?
    We are in Collin County, Prosper, McKinney, Frisco, Celina areas. Send us a message to know if we service your area. We do not service areas outside of Collin County.
  • Do you recommend or provide swim flotation devices for students?
    No, we do not provide or recommend flotation devices for beginners. Learning how to swim without flotation devices is always preferred. If you must use a flotation device for your child, then we recommend using something that will allow them to maintain a horizontal body position in the water. Such devices include: life jackets, swim vests, or flotation suits.
  • How fast will my child learn to swim?
    Learning time varies from student to student, but most children see significant improvement within the recommended 12 or 18 lesson packages. We have a promise that between 12 to 18 lessons that your child will learn to swim or you will earn additional free lessons.
  • What do students under 7 generally learn in lessons?
    Aquaguard Swim Pro Instructors focus on water safety and life saving swimming skills first, with students eventually graduating to swim strokes. Toddlers will learn essential water safety skills such as holding their breath, kicking and floating, and will work towards the ability to turn around and kick back to the wall after jumping in - a basic safety skill-set. Preschoolers will learn all skills covered for infants and toddlers, and can work towards higher level skills including kicking on their back with arm paddling and starting arm scoops in preparation for learning freestyle.
  • What if my child cries or wants to leave the water?
    It is normal for some students to cry during lessons, especially early on when your student and instructor are building a bond. Learning to swim can be intimidating for young children, students uncomfortable with the water, and even students with special needs. Until your student knows and trusts their instructor, there may be some tears. Our instructors understand and promise to tailor their approach to help your student progress and learn to enjoy their time in the water.
  • What special needs do you accommodate?
    At Aquaguard Swim Pros, we are committed to providing a positive swimming experience for all our students. However, we want to be transparent about our current capabilities. At this time, we do not have specialized training or experience in working with individuals with the following conditions: Autism Asperger's Syndrome Cerebral Palsy Down Syndrome Sensory Integration Disorder/Sensory Challenges Physical Difficulties We believe in delivering the highest quality instruction and feel that specialized needs require specific expertise. As we are not medically licensed to address these unique challenges, we recommend seeking instructors with the relevant experience for these conditions. If you have any questions or need assistance finding a suitable program, please feel free to contact us, and we will be happy to help in any way we can.
  • Can lessons be cancelled or rescheduled?
    Yes, you can cancel individual lessons at any time for any reason. However, if your lessons have already been confirmed with an Aquaguard Swim Pros instructor, a $50 cancellation fee may apply. Packages are non-refundable but can be rescheduled after completing the second lesson. If you need to cancel your package after the first lesson and at least 48 hours before the second lesson, you will receive a full refund. If your lessons haven’t been confirmed with an Aquaguard Swim Pros instructor, there is no fee to cancel. Once your instructor is confirmed, you may also opt to pause your lessons at no charge instead of canceling. The cancellation fee helps cover the effort involved in matching you with the perfect instructor. Even if lessons haven’t started, our team invests time and care into selecting the right Aquaguard Swim Pro for your needs.
  • I'm sharing lessons with a friend. Can we pay separately?
    We can only store one credit card per registration in our secure system. If you’re sharing lessons with a friend or family member, one person will need to be the main account holder with their card on file. You can then coordinate with your friend or family member to split the cost of the package. We’re happy to help you calculate the shared amounts. Most clients use payment methods like Venmo, check, direct deposit, or cash to settle payments with others sharing the lessons.
  • Do you accept cash or check?
    We’re unable to accept cash or check for lesson payments. Any cash or check provided directly to your Aquaguard Swim Pro would be considered a tip. We do accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX), and all payments are processed securely online.
  • Can students share a lesson?
    For the best learning experience, we recommend that each student receive individual instruction with an Aquaguard Swim Pro. We do offer Semi-Private group options, but only the children booked for the session are eligible to participate.
  • I want to order more lessons. How do I do that?
    If you're seeing great progress and want to continue lessons, it's easy to order more! You can email us Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm CST, to extend your package. Additionally, as your current package nears completion, you'll receive an email with a re-order form. Simply select your desired package, and your instructor will be notified to continue your lessons. If your instructor is unavailable for the new package, we’ll gladly match you with another Aquaguard Swim Pro in your area.
  • How long does it take to get a refund?
    Once we determine the correct refund amount, your refund will be processed by our billing department within 1 business day. Depending on your specific bank or card policies, it generally takes about 1-2 weeks for the funds to show up in your account.
  • What happens if I want to cancel lessons for just one student?
    We understand that sometimes a student may not be ready for semi-private lessons. If your lessons have already been confirmed with an Aquaguard Swim Pro, a $20 cancellation fee may apply. While packages are non-refundable, they can be rescheduled after completing the second lesson. If you cancel after the first lesson and at least 48 hours before the second lesson, you'll receive a full refund. If one student can't continue, another student can take their place at no extra charge. If no replacement is available, we can extend your current student’s package by up to 2 additional lessons, as refunds for packages are not available.

Just contact us within 48 hours of your first lesson, and before the second one, and we’ll be happy to honor our Satisfaction Promise. If your concern is unrelated to your instructor, standard cancellation and registration fees may apply.
  • Can I reschedule a lesson if my child is sick?
    If your child is unable to attend a lesson due to illness, please notify your swim instructor at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. For cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson, it will be up to the instructor whether the lesson is rescheduled or forfeited. Each package allows for two lesson reschedules. Beyond that, any additional cancellations may result in forfeited lessons, at the instructor's discretion.
  • We're going on vacation. Will those lessons be lost?
    Your swim lessons are flexible and scheduled according to your availability. If you have a planned vacation, your instructor can adjust the schedule to accommodate it. When you return, you'll be able to pick up your swim lessons right where you left off.
  • I'm going on vacation. Can I still get the Learn to Swim Promise?
    We have found that most students, especially young children, learn best from consistent instruction. Taking a break from lessons may negatively affect their progress towards meeting the Learn to Swim Promise. The Swim Promise requires 2 to 3 lessons consist per week to qualify.
  • What is your 100% Satisfaction/Money Back Promise?
